Seafood Chowder
When I went to San Francisco last year, one of the things I discovered was chowder, and this is how they served it. The chowder was actually from a tin and I didn’t make the bread. But I did make the bread into a bowl :)
Ingredients
Seafood chowder
Bread
Prawn patties
Here are some prawn patties I made the other day - served with some mash potatoes and spinach. As this was my first attempt at making patties, I kept the ingredients to a minimal to previous prawn patties I’ve tried. These turned out ok, but definitely room for improvement for when I try it again.
Ingredients
Prawns
Potatoes
Spinach
Chinese mushrooms
Risotto with asparagus and pork
Risotto dish I made when I had friends round for dinner. Not made risotto for a long time, so was a bit wary of how it would turn out. Turned out very good though, everyone said they enjoyed it and I enjoyed it too. If it didn’t take so long to make, I would probably have risotto most days. Awesome food!
Ingredients
Risotto
Asparagus
Pancetta
Yellow peppers
Red onions
Mushrooms
Pork
Cheese
Potato Salad
A small light dish today. Had some left over potatoes and other things left in the fridge so decided to make a salad. Potatoes were boiled then everything else was just mixed into a bowl with some seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil.
Ingredients
Potatoes
Pancetta
Red Onions
Rocket
Pork noodle soup
Simple noodle dish, consisting of strips of pork, pak choi, mushrooms, spring onions and a pack of ramen noodles. I’m having a lazy day today, so this will do. Still awesome though.
Ingredients
Ramen noodle
Pork
Spring onions
Pak choi
Mushrooms
Egg salad
Well, this was an experiment. I had poached eggs, with cooked spinach with pitta bread. Yeah, quite random, but it was nice, and it is healthy(In my opinion). The salad consist of spinach, sundried tomatoes, spring onions, olives and feta cheese. Which was cooked for a few minutes before it is layered onto the oven cooked pita bread.
Ingredients
Eggs
Spinach
Pitta bread
Sundried tomatoes
Mixed olives
Spring onions
Feta cheese
Stuffed Mushrooms
Always wanted to make stuffed mushrooms, so I did. This was more of an experiment really, everything I put into the mushrooms was just things I had in my fridge at the time. So I pan cooked the spinach, onions and chorizo, before stuffing the mushrooms with this, topped off with some mexican spicy cheese. The outcome was quite nice, there was a range of different flavours stuffed into one mushroom which I rather liked.
Ingredients
Mushrooms
Spinach
Cheese
Red onions
Chorizo
Lo Bak Go (Chinese dim sum)
I’ll start off by saying, I did not make this, but my mum did. If you have never heard of this, it is a chinese dim sum dish made from shredded radish and rice flour. With various ingredients added in. It is first steamed, to set everything together. Then once you want to eat it, You pan fry it to get a nice chrispy texture.
Ingredients
Radish
Rice flour
Dried shrimp
Chinese sausage
Chinese mushrooms
Spring onions
Ham
Sausage and Mash
Classic meal today of sausage and mash. There was so many choices of sausages available to me, but I decided to keep it simple and went with Pork and apple.
Ingredients
Pork and bramley apple sausages
Potatoes
Red onions
Gravy
Carrots
Breakfast in a bun
What more can I say about this. Whats in it?, well, most things. I don’t recommend this as a daily or even a weekly meal. But, sometimes you have to treat yourself to something like this. Probably still healthier than a McDonalds salad though.
Ingredients
Seeded bun
Egg
Sausages
Ham
Baked beans
Curly fries
